It is often mentioned that things used to be “so much better in my day”… in the case of the London Irish Rifles, that may very well be true and it’s clear that one element of the sharing of our storied history has always been the Regimental Journal, ‘The Emerald’, which has been published by the LIR’s Old Comrades Association and the Regimental Association since September 1949.
We have the pleasure of share (most) of the archived copies of The Emerald for you to peruse… reading through them, it certainly stirs up so many fond memories of esteemed former members of our Regiment – and their stories remain remarkably vivid to the current day.
