The Bttn Remained by the sea at Fiumefreddo until 8th September when they moved by march route to Piedimonte. The object if the move was to get away from the malarious area by the area, Piedimonte being over eleven hundred feet above sea level and also to get into billets before the rain started. The Bttn was accommodate in various buildings in and around the village as follows: Bttn HQ all together in a large house at 0311228, “A” Coy at 021138, “B” Coy at 036129, “C” Coy at 037125, Platoons of HQ Coy at the following places: No 1 Platoon with Bttn HQ, No 2 Platoon with Coy HQ at 035129, 3 Platoon 032105, No 4 Platoon at 036109 and 5 Platoon at 033137, No 6 Platoon (QM) opposite “B” Coy. A part of “C” Coy under T/Major Brooks MC were engaged in L of C duties at Messina. Piedomonte was the most comfortable place the Bttn had been in since it left England. There was plenty of water and almost all the billets had electric light which came on in the middle of the month, enabling the Bttn to run the local cinema.
13th September
1100 The Divisional commander spoke to the 168 (London) Infantry Brigade at Taormina.
25th September
1100 To celebrate Loos day, the Bttn had a ceremonial parade and march past in the town of Piedimonte. The Bttn on parade was first addressed by the Commanding Officer, Lt Col IH Good, who explained the gallant action fought at Loos by the Bttn in the last war. He also said that the 28th September was the 150th anniversary of the raising of the Regiment of the Royal Ulster Rifles. This would be combined in the celebration of the Battle of Loos. The Bttn then marched to their respective service, RC or CE, which were held for the remembrance of men of the Bttn, who fell in the Battle of Loos and for those who fell in the recent fighting in Sicily. After the church services, the Bttn formed up and marched past the Commander, 168th Brigade Brigadier KC Davidson, who took the salute.

Il 25 Settembre 1915, si Inizio la celebre battaglia di Loos nell uele il Battagione “London Irish Rifles” acquisto una fama immortale.
Il 25 Settembre 1943, il medesimo Battaglione “London Irish Rifles” di residenza attualmente in Piedimonte Etneo, commemorera solennemente I gloriosi caduti di Loos, ad anche coloro che, generosamente e con sacrificio, hanno dato la loro vita per la causa della liberta, combattendo eroicamente nel fronta Siculo, nei mesi di Giugno-Agosoto 1943
In tele circostanza il Battaglione verra passato in rivista la mattina dello stesso giorno con accompagnamento della banda (cornamuse), e cosi verra prestato un servizio commemorative. Al termine, del servizio, il Battaglione sfilera daventi agli Ufficiali in alta tenuta a percorrera la via principale dell Cittadine.
