Carried out interior economy and training including attack in waves.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\"\/>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>November 4th \u2013 Gorenflos.<\/strong><br>Bttn in billets. General training.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\"\/>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>November 5th \u2013 Gorenflos.<\/strong><br>Bttn in billets.<br>Sunday mass in village church at 730am. C of E church parade at 3pm.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\"\/>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>November 6th \u2013 Gorenflos.<\/strong><br>Bttn in billets. General Training.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\"\/>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>November 7th\u2013 Gorenflos.<\/strong><br>Billet in billets.<br>The following party departed on leave: Major JE Payton, Capt Frisby, Capt JWF Harding, Capt Lane, Capt Peckham, 2\/Lieut Tolson, RSM Walsh and 7 ORs.<br>2\/Lieut TA Willis took over duties as Acting Adjutant during the absence of Capt HS Lane on leave.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\"\/>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>November 8th \u2013 Gorenflos.<\/strong><br>Bttn marched to Brigade Parade at Ailly at which Brigadier General Studd gave 3 decorations to members of the 2\/17th Bttn London Regiment and bade farewell to the Brigade. The 2\/18th was described by Brigade Staff as the smartest and sturdiest on parade.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\"\/>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>November 9th \u2013 Gorenflos.<\/strong><br>The following party went on leave to England: Capt Churchill RAMC, Lieuts CS Williams, Collenette, Thompson, Wilson, 2\/Lieut Whyte, Cousin and 13 ORs.<br>Lieut Col Murphy received orders to proceed to England and report to Secretary of War Office in writing.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\"\/>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>November 10th \u2013 Gorenflos.<\/strong><br>Major AE Norton, West Africa Regiment reported for duty.<br>Officers of the battalion entertained Lieut Col Murphy to dinner and expressed their confidence in his leadership and sympathy in his sorrow.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\"\/>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>November 11th \u2013 Gorenflos.<\/strong><br>Major AE Norton assumed command of the battalion.<br>Lieut Col Murphy visited each platoon and bade farewell to the Officers and Men, shaking each man by the hand.<br>When he left for the station at 6pm, the men lined the road and cheered him and the officers took the horse from the shafts and drew the vehicle on their shoulders amidst scenes of intense enthusiasm for Lieut Col Murphy.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\"\/>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>November 12th \u2013 Gorenflos.<\/strong><br>Bttn attended Church Parade and games.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\"\/>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>November 13th \u2013 Gorenflos.<\/strong><br>Bttn inspected in the morning by Major AB Norton and at 230pm by Brigadier General Carleton, Commanding 180th Infantry Brigade.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\"\/>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>November 14th \u2013 Gorenflos.<\/strong><br>The following officers returned from leave: Lieut Williams, Lieut Wilson, Capt Churchil RAMC, 2\/Lieut Whyte, 2\/Lieut Couson.<br>Bttn engaged in interior economy.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\"\/>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>November 15th \u2013 Gorenflos.<\/strong><br>The following officers returned from leave: Major Payton, Capt Frisby, Capt Harding, Capt Lane, Lieut Collenette, Lieut Thompson, Capt Peckham, 2\/Lieut Tolson.<br>Bttn engaged in interior economy.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\"\/>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>November 16th \u2013 Gorenflos.<\/strong><br>Bttn engaged in interior economy and training.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\"\/>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>November 17th \u2013 Gorenflos.<\/strong><br>Bttn engaged in interior economy and training.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\"\/>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>November 18th \u2013 Gorenflos.<\/strong><br>Bttn engaged in interior economy and training.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\"\/>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>November 19th \u2013 Gorenflos.<\/strong><br>Bttn marched from Gorenflos at 530am to Longpre and entrained from Marseille at 2pm. Rear party of 10 officers and 10 servants under Capt Frisby marched from Gorenflos at 215pm and entrained for Marseille at 510pm.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\"\/>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>November 20th \u2013 In the Train.<\/strong><br>Bttn in the train on route for Marseille.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\"\/>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>November 21st \u2013 In the Train.<\/strong><br>Bttn arrived at Marseille at midnight and marched to Camp Carcassone, Rear Party arrived at 8am 22\/11\/16.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\"\/>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>November 22nd \u2013 Marseille.<\/strong><br>Bttn in camp at Marseille.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\"\/>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>November 23rd \u2013 Marseille.<\/strong><br>Bttn in camp at Marseille.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\"\/>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>November 24th \u2013 Marseille.<\/strong><br>Bttn in camp at Marseille.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\"\/>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>November 25th \u2013 At Sea.<\/strong><br>Bttn embarked on HM Transport Caledonia for Salonika and sailed at 530pm.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\"\/>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>November 26th \u2013 At Sea.<\/strong><br>Bttn at sea.
