The Guiding Principles of the Association are:<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n

a) To foster friendship amongst all members.<\/strong><\/h4>\n\n\n\n

b) To afford financial assistance to past members of the Regiment and their dependents.<\/strong><\/h4>\n\n\n\n

c) To administer and accept responsibility for the Band.<\/strong><\/h4>\n\n\n\n

d) To encourage attendance at all Association functions whilst treasuring Regimental History.<\/strong><\/h4>\n\n\n\n

THE LONDON IRISH RIFLES REGIMENTAL ASSOCIATION has over 150 members, including a number who live overseas.<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

DID YOU OR A FAMILY MEMBER serve with the 1st or 2nd Battalion London Irish Rifles<\/strong>, serve with D Company in the past<\/strong> or are a former London Irish Rifles cadet and are over 18.<\/strong><\/h4>\n\n\n\n

We have a thriving Regimental Association and our members take part in regular events as well as occasional battlefield tours and receive newsletters and be sent the Emerald, the annual journal of the Regimental Association<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Our Welfare Team provides support to former and current London Irish Riflemen, liaising with external organisations, including SSAFA, on matters that require further investigation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Associate Membership is also open and available to family members of former members of the London Irish Rifles or anyone who supports the Aims and Objectives of the Regimental Association and has its interests at heart.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The annual recurring subscription is \u00a310 and payment can be set up by Standing Order or Direct Debit. Subscribing members will be sent a copy of the Emerald, the annual Regimental journal, which has been published since 1949.<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n

  • Be able to take part in regular events, including parades on Loos Sunday, Remembrance Sunday and St Patrick’s Day.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  • Have the opportunity to join battlefield tours and pilgrimage commemorations arranged by the Regimental Association.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  • Receive a copy of the annual ‘Emerald’ journal.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  • Be able to reconnect with many old friends and comrades who are also members of the Association.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n

    NOEL GUNNING<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n

    We are very sad to announce the death of former London Irish Rifleman, Mr Noel Gunning, who served with the 1st Battalion in the 1960s and, more recently, was a Vice President of the Regimental Association. Noel performed numerous duties for the Association over the past few years including acting as Events Officer and Honorary Treasurer and will greatly missed by us all.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    We would like to send our heartfelt condolences to Jean Gunning and all Noel’s family.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
