{"id":243,"date":"2017-12-12T11:02:42","date_gmt":"2017-12-12T11:02:42","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.londonirishrifles.com\/?page_id=243"},"modified":"2017-12-12T12:04:49","modified_gmt":"2017-12-12T12:04:49","slug":"exhibition-at-the-national-museum-of-ireland","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/www.londonirishrifles.com\/index.php\/latest-news-articles\/exhibition-at-the-national-museum-of-ireland\/","title":{"rendered":"Exhibition at the National Museum of Ireland"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignright wp-image-279\" src=\"https:\/\/www.londonirishrifles.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/12\/scan1100-210x300.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"245\" height=\"350\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.londonirishrifles.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/12\/scan1100-210x300.jpg 210w, https:\/\/www.londonirishrifles.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/12\/scan1100.jpg 717w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 245px) 100vw, 245px\" \/>We were delighted to be visited recently by Lar Joye, the Military Curator from the National Museum of Ireland (NMI) in Dublin.<br \/>\nLar was in London to give a lecture for the National Army Museum about the involvement of Irish men and women during the First World War and took the opportunity afterwards to visit Connaught House and enjoy a short tour of the Regimental Museum along with Curators, Alex Shooter and Nigel Wilkinson.<\/p>\n<p>The NMI at the Collins Barracks has recently opened a new exhibition \u2018Recovered Voices\u2019, and this includes the detailed stories of 21 Irishmen and women, who took part in the First World War.<\/p>\n<p>Within the exhibition, there is a section on Rifleman Ralph Summerland, who served with the 1\/18th London Regiment (London Irish Rifles) before being killed at Loos on 21st October 1915.
