This photograph was probably taken during Ted\u2019s second visit to Rome after the Battle of Trasimeno. He had hoped to act as MC for mass in St Peter\u2019s Basilica but was ordered to go to the Franciscan monastery close to the steps to prepare dinner for the battalion.
