The London Irish Rifles Association Pipes and Drums are always seeking pipers and drummers at its new home in Penge in south east London.  <\/b><\/h4>\n\n\n\n

From the time of its formation in 1906, the Pipes and Drums formed an integral part of The London Irish Rifles, before coming under the umbrella of the Regimental Association in 1969.<\/p>\n\n\n

We welcome new members to carry on the proud tradition of the Regimental Pipes and Drums: remembering when they marched in the Allied victory parade in Tunis in May 1943, and at the Vatican during both June and July 1944. Evocative events, among so many, at which our Pipes and Drums have performed so memorably over the years…<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Pipe Major Gerald Griffin, 1966-2025<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

Gerald was promoted to Pipe Major on St Patrick\u2019s Day in March 2025 but, whilst taking part in a most exertive hill walk in Wales during May 2025, he succumbed to the heat. Unfortunately, he went into immediate Cardiac Arrest and tragically passed away in an Air Ambulance on the way to hospital.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

It was such shocking news for us all and, obviously, our main thoughts remain with Gerald\u2019s family, especially his beloved wife, Michelle, and their daughter and son, Louise and Daniel.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
